Is your CHILD’S POCKET MONEY SAFE?

Get them a CoopPay Card (pocket money card). This is a Visa pre-paid card which you can load upfront and give your child to shop at the school canteen.

You can load the card from anywhere, anytime via Mpesa paybill 400200 or the nearest Co-op Bank branch.
To Load a CoopPay Card via Mpesa:
- Use Co-op Paybill 400200
- Account P******* (******* is the card account and P must be a capital letter)
The only amount which is deducted from the card is the cost of the item the student is paying for.
In case the student needs cash e.g. for bus fare on school closing day, they can withdraw at the school Co-op Agent, or any Co-op ATM outside the school.
You will receive an SMS every time the card is used, and you can print mini statements from the nearest Co-op ATM or Co-op Bank Agent. Therefore you can track when and where the card is used.
You don’t need to have a Co-op Account to apply for the card.
To apply for a CoopPay card:
- Visit your nearest Co-op Bank Branch with:
- A copy of your ID and KRA PIN

Shop bila charges with your CO-OP ATM CARD

You don’t need to withdraw cash and risk carrying it around as you shop for back to school.

The only amount which is deducted from your Co-op account is the cost of the item you are paying for.
Each time you pay with the card, you will input your ATM PIN. Nobody can misuse your card unless you give them the PIN. Do not share your PIN with anyone.
It’s a VISA Debit Card. It can be used to pay for any goods and services wherever you see the VISA sign in Kenya and abroad.

1. How to pay school fees to Co-op PayBill 400222

Go to Lipa na Mpesa, Paybill option
Enter PAYBILL 400222
ACCOUNT: SCHOOLCODE#STUDENTNUMBER (no spaces). For example 1059#123456789.
Click here to get your school code
Enter the amount
Enter your M-PESA PIN and confirm the transaction
You’ll receive a confirmation SMS with the amount paid and student’s details

2. How to pay school fees at Co-op Agent

Cash deposit is free of charge
You’ll get a paper receipt which you or the child can take to school
All you need is:
- The cash you want to pay
- The school’s Co-op account number
- The student’s admission number

3. How to pay school fees on MCo-opCash

Dial *667# or open the MCo-opCash app and login with your MCo-opCash PIN
Select SEND MONEY
Select CO-OP ACCOUNT
Select OTHER CO-OP ACCOUNTS
Select ACCOUNT TO TRANSFER FROM
Select BENEFICIARY TYPE (ACCOUNT)
Enter the BENEFICIARY ACCOUNT NUMBER
Enter the AMOUNT
If using the Mco-opCash App, enter the reason for payment as student number
Confirm the transaction
You will receive a confirmation SMS
